Welcome to First Baptist Church!

We are the people of God,
praying to God, seeking the plan of God, taking the Word of God in the power of God to the lost without God, and building up the Kingdom of God-all for the glory of God.

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK:

…What is the minimum I can get away with. Have you ever had this thought or made this statement? I have! In school this would be graded by the teacher and given a “D”. Do we really want to approach life trying to live it to the minimum? No, we want to get an “A” from Jesus when we stand before Him and hear Him say, “Well done good and faithful servant!” When it comes to relationship with others, we want to be successful. Sometimes life-happens.

What I mean is that people get sick, cars break-down, house fall in to disrepair, accidents happen, sin happens, or catastrophe happens. In our society we try to have insurance to protect us against bad things happening to us, but still, sometimes we are overwhelmed, overcome, or overloaded with happenings that may or may not be our fault. What do we do? Believers are commanded to bear one another’s burden. How do we do this? Is this what Jesus really expects from me? Let’s look at Scripture and see!

pray that our schools will be guided by biblical values and
high moral standards; to pray for every school around the world.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:

Winter storm warnings. We heard a lot of these this past week. Have you listened to them and heeded their warnings? The reason for these warnings is to prepare for what is to come. Many hear the warnings and do what is necessary to prepare. Many hear the warnings and take the stance that it’s not going to happen or affect me and then once it does are questioning why they didn’t listen.

Throughout the Bible God is showing us how to prepare for Christ’s return. How have you heeded his instruction? If Christ were to return today would you be prepared? Would your family and all those you come in contact with be prepared as well?

We still have time to get prepared: get your life right with God and share with your family and loved ones the gift of salvation. For in the blink of an eye Christ will come again. Are you ready?
